A safe New Year!

A safe New Year!

A safe New Year!

From December 16 to 30, the republican campaign "Safe New Year!" will be held in the Postavy district, during which Firefighter Santa Claus will help not only children who believe in magic but also adults prepare for the long-awaited New Year holidays. Let's find out together how he will do this.

1-2-3 Don't let the Christmas tree burn! One of the main symbols of the New Year holidays is already shining in many homes – it is, of course, the beautiful Christmas tree. However, it is worth remembering that its captivating beauty is sometimes dangerous. Do not combine flammable materials (e.g., paper, cotton wool...) with electric garlands, whose bulbs heat up over time, or with candles. Remember the safety of small household members and animals who may knock over the tree and get injured, especially if there are masterful glass ornaments on the coniferous masterpiece. Otherwise, consider fencing it off. Install the tree away from heating appliances and carpets.

If you did not follow our advice, in case of fire, unplug the electric garland, overturn the tree, and cover it with a dense cloth (blanket, carpet, etc.).

Lights but no fire. More about garlands. Before hanging a garland, make sure it is in good working order and that the insulation is not worn. Be sure to read the instructions for its use, the environment in which it can operate, and its shelf life. Remember that a garland is an electrical appliance that has not only a service life but also a certain period of continuous operation. Leaving it on overnight is not only pointless but also reckless.

Count on your fingers! No New Year's holiday is complete without fireworks and sparklers. In addition to beautiful flashes and sincere joy, these whims bring many tears. And often due to simple human foolishness. Therefore, enthusiasts planning to use pyrotechnic products, let's count on our fingers while they are still intact:

1. Purchase pyrotechnics at specialized outlets licensed to sell such products. The products are also certified. Often, such sellers have nothing to hide, and information is readily available. If it is not visible, you should request it.

2. Carefully study the instructions for using the product. This includes preparatory measures, the location and fixation of the firework casing, and do not launch fireworks in unsettled weather.

3.  Observe the safe distance indicated in the product instructions and choose a location away from cars, people, and buildings.

4. If the pyrotechnic product, for whatever reason, did not fire, exploded, or malfunctioned... You must wait at least 20-30 minutes and not approach the potentially dangerous object. After that, carefully dispose of the product according to the instructions.

5. Be sure to tell children about the dangers of pyrotechnic products and the consequences of mischief, and do not allow a child to launch fireworks independently.

We hope that you will be able to celebrate the New Year in a cozy home, and not in the ashes of a house or a hospital.
