Don't wait for the squirrel – extinguish the cigarette butt!

Since the beginning of the year, 1657 fires have occurred in the Republic of Belarus (1112 fires in 2020), in which 244 people died, including 2 children (165 people in 2020). In the Vitebsk region, 253 fires occurred (177 fires in 2020), in which 41 people died (33 people in 2020).

As part of the information and propaganda campaign "Don't wait for a squirrel – put out the cigarette butt!", rescuers once again remind that according to paragraph 5.2 of the "Fire Safety Rules for Residential Buildings, Structures and Facilities...", citizens are PROHIBITED from leaving lit candles unattended, SMOKING IN BED OR ANY OTHER SLEEPING AREA, throwing unextinguished cigarettes, matches out of windows, from balconies (loggias) of apartment buildings, into garbage chutes, garbage containers, bins, urns in the adjacent territory.
