Do not leave children unattended

Preventing injuries and deaths of children in fires is one of the areas of activity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. In this area, propagandists do a lot of work with both younger and older generations: they organize campaigns, competitions, festivals and rallies, create games, books and visual materials, shoot videos and films, and launch information and propaganda campaigns. Such a comprehensive approach yields results: if in 1986 statistics recorded 101 cases of tragic outcomes involving children, in 2020 there was only one. But we cannot stop at the achieved result even when the number becomes zero.

Children by their nature are very inquisitive and curious. Every day for them is a new story that they experience, immersing themselves as much as possible in all ongoing processes. However, they do not always understand what lies behind a particular action that is performed to explore the world around them. We cannot ignore adults who allow themselves to leave children unattended. It seems to them that nothing serious can happen during this time, but it is always enough for a momentary carelessness to turn into a lifelong tragedy.

On the eve of the spring holidays, to urge adults not to leave children alone under any circumstances, the Propaganda Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations made a new film for parents, grandparents, and all those who care about children's lives. In it, using real family stories, one can see with their own eyes what results parental carelessness and, as a consequence, playing with fire can lead to.
