Domestic violence

Every person living on Earth and participating in society has encountered violence. They may not become a victim of violence or a perpetrator, but they may know or see how pain and suffering are inflicted upon others. Unfortunately, in the modern world, the promotion of violence is ubiquitous – in films, print media, and news, this topic is touched upon, discussed, and becomes commonplace for us. From an early age, people see how pain is inflicted, and sadly, many develop the stereotype that violence, cruelty, is normal, one of the components of our lives. Having received such an attitude, not everyone can refuse to show cruelty, inflict pain and suffering on others.

One of the most terrible types of violence is "DOMESTIC VIOLENCE." The causes of cruelty in family relationships vary. As practice shows, the grounds for cruelty can be problems at work, domestic instability, and the consequence of mental disorders. But there is a reason that is the oldest enemy of normal family relationships. This is alcohol. Its power is immeasurably great, and the saddest thing is that people themselves allow this power to break free. The number of offenses committed in the sphere of family and domestic relations while intoxicated is simply frightening. Some have formed the opinion that alcohol is a cure for all problems, and coming home after a hard day, a proud father does not bring sweets to his children or flowers to his wife; he brings a bottle of alcohol and a snack. Such behavior becomes the norm, as a result, addiction develops, families break down, lives are shattered. Treating alcohol addiction is a long and painful process that does not always yield positive results.

To address the problem of violence in family and domestic relations, authorized bodies are taking a number of measures. At the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the internal affairs department, together with interested bodies, regularly conducts preventive measures such as "Home Without Violence!", "Everyday Life," the purpose of which is to draw the attention of broad segments of the population to the problem of domestic violence.
