On May 6, the military burial site in the village of Sivtsy was crowded: the reburial of the remains of Red Army private Sergey Chizh, found during search operations on August 27, 2025, took place there with full military honors.

The bank of the Disna River in the village of Vasiliny, eight meters from the fence of the rural cemetery, revealed its terrible secret to the searchers that day. Military personnel from the 52nd separate specialized search battalion and volunteers from the Novopolotsk detachment "Scouts of Military Glory" working there found the remains of a man who, according to local residents, died during the Great Patriotic War, at the roots of an old birch tree.
