Special attention to mass recreation areas

With the arrival of long-awaited warm weather, the number of people seeking to relax in nature also increases. To ensure the most effective safety of citizens, police officers, together with representatives of all interested departments, conduct preliminary monitoring of mass recreation areas. Corresponding patrol routes for police units are being developed.

This year, as in the past, special attention will be paid to preventing and suppressing offenses related to drinking alcoholic beverages, including beer, near water bodies, as well as in parks, and swimming in prohibited areas. It is necessary to once again remind about responsibility for offenses in places of mass recreation for citizens, which are also public places. Drinking alcoholic, low-alcohol beverages, beer in a public place or appearing in a public place while intoxicated, in accordance with Article 17.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Belarus, entails a fine of up to 8 basic units, and in case of repeated commission within a year — from 2 to 15 basic units or administrative arrest. Administrative liability will arise if the consumption of alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages occurs in plain sight of others.

When planning to spend time in nature, it is necessary to remember that the law provides for responsibility for swimming in prohibited areas of rivers, lakes, or other bodies of water. For this, the sanction of Article 23.63 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Belarus is a fine ranging from one to three basic units. A warning or a fine of up to 12 basic units is provided for lighting fires in prohibited areas; this is the responsibility provided for by Article 15.58 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Belarus. A fine of up to 50 basic units may be imposed for polluting forests and other woody and shrubby vegetation by citizens, according to Article 15.30 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Belarus.

Be law-abiding so as not to spoil your rest and that of others. And remember that all measures taken by law enforcement officers to ensure public order in places of mass recreation for citizens are aimed at reducing the risk of accidents, and various types of offenses and crimes against vacationers.
