The Winter Workplace Safety Month will be held from January 14 to February 13, 2026.

To prevent accidents and extraordinary emergencies in the Vitebsk Region, on January 9, 2026, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, A.M. Subbotin, signed the order "On Ensuring Safe Working Conditions in Winter".

The document instructs the chairpersons of district and city executive committees, and the heads of state bodies, organizations, and business entities to carry out a set of measures from January 14 to February 13, 2026. These measures are aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing accidents, with special attention to preventing the adverse effects of low temperatures in the workplace and increasing labor productivity and efficiency. 

Heads of organizations are instructed, under their personal responsibility, to organize the clearing of snow and ice from the roofs of houses and buildings, territories, and communication routes; to ensure the timely treatment of areas with anti-slip mixtures; and to conduct inspections of ventilation systems and air curtains. If any facilities are found to be in a state of disrepair or pose a danger to others, their operation must be immediately suspended. 

Representatives of supervisory and regulatory authorities are instructed to intensify efforts to suppress violations of labor protection legislation and to focus on compliance with the requirements of Directive No. 1 regarding the consumption of
