Measures to prevent road accidents involving minors will be carried out by Postavy State Automobile Inspectorate employees

From September 10 to September 30, 2019, measures aimed at ensuring compliance with traffic rules by minors and preventing road accidents involving vulnerable road users are being carried out in the Postavy district.

In August 2019, the Vitebsk region saw an increase in road accidents compared to the same period last year, from 36 to 38, with fatalities rising from 6 to 10 and injuries from 34 to 38. During this period, 4 road accidents involving minors were registered, in which 4 minors sustained injuries.

To avoid tragic consequences, the State Automobile Inspectorate appeals to all city residents to conduct explanatory talks with their children on the basics of safe behavior on the roads.

Dear parents! Focus all your attention on ensuring the safety of children on the road.

Walk your child's "home-school-home" route with them, explaining and showing where it is safe to cross the roadway, how to get to a public transport stop, and which areas require particular caution. Remind your children daily about traffic rules before they leave home.

When transporting children, use child restraint systems appropriate for the child's weight and height. Ensure the child's safety not only while driving but also when getting in and out of the vehicle.

The most important advice for all parents is to be an example of responsible and disciplined behavior on the road and in transport for your child.

Drivers! If you notice a child in front of your car on the roadway, shoulder, or sidewalk, take all precautions. Do not maneuver; reduce your speed in advance, even to a complete stop of the vehicle.
