The Lyntupy Rural Council is located in the Postavy District of the Vitebsk Region, established in October 1939.

The rural council's territory includes 83 rural settlements and the urban-type settlement of Lyntupy.

The rural council is located in the western part of the Postavy District, bordering the Republic of Lithuania. It borders the Kamai Rural Council. It is 38 km from the district center of Postavy. The area of the Lyntupy Rural Council is 33846.9774 hectares. The center of the rural council is the urban-type settlement of Lyntupy.

Population of the rural council as of 01.01.2026 – 1843 people, including urban-type settlement Lyntupy – 1182 people. The remaining rural settlements are home to 681 people.

Twenty settlements are uninhabited, less than 10 households - 52 settlements, from 11 to 50 households - 8.
