On 7 January, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard a detailed report from Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The main topic of the report was the situation in the region amid heavy snowfalls and the approaching cyclone, including efforts to ensure the stable functioning of infrastructure and the clearing of streets and transport routes. Alexander Lukashenko asked whether any assistance should be provided to Gomel Oblast in this regard.
The President was also briefed on the implementation of instructions following last year's meeting in Vitebsk, which discussed the performance of agribusiness organizations. To this end, the workforce of industrial enterprises is also being engaged to assist agricultural organizations.
