Brief description of Kuropolsky Rural Council
Kuropolsky Rural Council was established on January 1, 1944. The administrative center is the agro-town of Kuropolye.
The area of the rural council is 36522.13 hectares. It borders with the city of Postavy, Yunkovsky, Kamaysky, Voropaevsky, Novoselkovsky rural councils of Postavy district, Braslavsky and Sharkovshchinsky districts, and the Republic of Lithuania.
The total population is 1765 people, of whom 1016 are of working age, 494 are pensioners, and 255 are children.
There are 59 settlements on the territory of the rural council, the largest of which are the agro-towns of Khotily, Kuropolye, Androny, and the village of Yarevo.
In the field of agricultural production, the open joint-stock companies "Khotily-Agro", "Kuropolye-agro" and "Yarevo-agro" operate, and 8 agritourism estates provide agritourism services.
In the social sphere, the following operate:
• sports and tourism complex of the sports and tourism department of the Postavy District Executive Committee "Ozerki" with various types of sports grounds;
• state educational institution "Kuropolskaya Basic School of Postavy District";
• preschool education is represented by the state educational institution "Khotilovsky Nursery-Kindergarten of Postavy District";
• Kuropolsky Rural House of Culture;
• Andronovsky and Yarevsky rural clubs;
• Kuropolskaya, Andronovskaya and Yarevskaya rural libraries;
• Kuropolsky, Telyakovsky, Andronovsky, Yarevsky FAPs (first-aid posts);
• communication services are provided by the post offices of the agro-towns of Kuropolye, Khotily, and a mobile post office;

Within the council's territory, there are 9 military burial sites from the First World War and the Great Patriotic War, 7 burial sites of foreign military personnel, and 6 monuments to fellow villagers who died during the Great Patriotic War.
The parish of "Our Lady of the Scapular and Saint Apostle John in Yarevo village, Postavy district, Vitebsk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the Republic of Belarus" and the Catholic chapel of Saint Teresa in Balai village are active.
