Historical and Cultural Heritage of Postavy District

The preservation of historical and cultural heritage and spiritual values is a crucial task for our society. Article 54 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus states that every citizen is obliged to protect historical and cultural, spiritual heritage and other national values (1,13).

Objects with the status of historical and cultural value are subject to state protection.

Issues of protection of historical, cultural and archaeological heritage of the Republic of Belarus are regulated by the Code of Culture of the Republic of Belarus dated July 20, 2016 No. 413-3 (as amended on February 6, 2023).

There are 45 historical and cultural monuments in Postavy District that have the status of historical and cultural value and are included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus, 33 of which are marked with a separate code in the specified list (9 archaeological monuments, 7 historical monuments, 17 architectural monuments).

Most of the objects in Postavy District that have the status of historical and cultural value are assigned category "3", meaning they are historical and cultural values whose distinctive spiritual and artistic properties and features are significant for the region.
