The State Automobile Inspectorate will pay increased attention to the safety of pedestrians and cyclists

To stabilize the situation on the country's roads, the State Automobile Inspectorate will hold a preventive event from February 18 to 26 to ensure the safety of vulnerable road users. Special attention will be paid to preventing road accidents during hours of darkness.

Employees will remind pedestrians and cyclists about innovations in traffic rules, safety measures at pedestrian crossings, the need to use retroreflective products, as well as rules for safe behavior when riding bicycles and personal mobility devices.

Work is planned for accident-prone road sections and unregulated pedestrian crossings. The focus of employees is not only on cyclists and pedestrians violating traffic rules, but also on drivers who do not observe speed limits and rules for passing pedestrian crossings.

In case of detecting intoxicated pedestrians and cyclists on the road, the State Automobile Inspectorate urges to report their location by calling 102 in order to promptly remove them from the roadway.
