The State Automobile Inspectorate will strengthen control over the safety of vulnerable road users from November 2 to 15

From November 2 to 15, the State Automobile Inspectorate will strengthen control over the safety of vulnerable road users

From November 2 to 15, 2022, employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Postavy District Department of Internal Affairs will conduct a set of preventive measures to prevent road accidents involving vulnerable road users, prevent the development of an unfavorable road traffic situation, and preserve the life and health of citizens.

During the upcoming period, weather conditions (precipitation, fog, strong gusts of wind, heavy rains, etc.) will significantly affect the accident rate in general, and the safety of vulnerable road users in particular.

Priorities in identifying violations will be failure to yield to pedestrians and violations by vulnerable road users (especially in the dark) who are intoxicated.

Traffic police officers will conduct appropriate outreach work in labor collectives, among vehicle owners, and vulnerable road users, drawing special attention of citizens to the need to inform the District Department of Internal Affairs about vulnerable road users on the road who are intoxicated or whose behavior creates prerequisites for committing a road accident, in order to timely remove them from the roadway.

You can report intoxicated pedestrians and cyclists on the road by calling 102.
