The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds that personal mobility devices are not toys
Personal mobility devices (PMDs) include: scooters, electric scooters, skateboards, gyroscooters, segways, monowheels, and other similar means of transport.
The number of such high-speed devices is rapidly increasing with the onset of warm days.
In this regard, the State Automobile Inspectorate draws the attention of road users to the fact that personal mobility devices are not toys.
Parents should always understand this when purchasing a scooter, gyroscooter, or other means of transport for their child, as should adults themselves, who often use these devices on the roadway.
It is important to note that such electric transport can be dangerous, namely, it can develop significant speed, which, with limited maneuverability, creates a high probability of losing control.
Currently, the scooter rental system is actively developing. It should be known that there are certain types of electric transport, which can include both low-power scooters and high-speed electric scooters, for which a special driving license is required.
We strongly recommend that users of mobile devices do not drive onto the roadway and do not endanger their lives and the lives of others. At the same time, it is no less important to explain to children the basic rules of safe behavior on the street while riding.
