Deaths of young children in water bodies
Once again, we emphasize that the most important thing parents should remember is that children should not be near water unsupervised. This is a rule that all adults must strictly follow. Unfortunately, young children left unsupervised often drown in water:
July 26 was fatal for a 10-year-old child from Antonova Buda village, Belynichi district, Mogilev region. The boy went fishing with four friends on the bank of a reservoir. It was a fire reservoir overgrown with reeds. The children were fishing from the bank. When it got hot, they decided to swim. Someone was splashing near the bank, while the 4th grader went further. According to the children, they saw the boy standing in the water up to his neck, then they got distracted, and the child disappeared from sight. The children called rescuers. The drowned boy was found 10 meters from the bank.
On June 29, a vacation on the Neman River almost ended in tragedy for a mother and her 9-year-old daughter. The girl and her mother were relaxing in a recreation area near the Lososno rescue station. The little girl was swimming on an inflatable ring. At some point, the girl dropped the inflatable ring, reached for it, found herself in deep water, and began to drown. Employees of the rescue station noticed the struggling child. The girl was pulled out of the water and handed over to her mother.
Another incident occurred on Lake Yubileynoye in Grodno on June 30. There, a teenager relaxing nearby was the first to notice a 7-year-old girl drowning. He pulled the child out of the water, and the arriving rescuers performed resuscitation. The young hero was awarded.
On August 6, in the Stolin district, a three-year-old child fell into the river. A casual witness pulled the child from under the pontoon when there was almost no hope of saving the baby. The incident occurred on the Pripyat River near the tourist complex "Pripyatsky Stan". As it turned out later, two brothers — seven and three years old — were walking around the territory. The children approached the pontoon to which the boats were tied, and the younger one lost his balance and fell into the water. The older child ran to call adults. Everyone ran to the pontoon, but people understood that the current on the Pripyat was crazy, and the baby could have been carried a kilometer away from under the pontoon by that time. The men jumped into the boats and swam downstream. Purely by chance, one man in the water heard a squeak. Everyone around was shouting. The man asked everyone to be silent, heard sounds again, and dived under the pontoon. Nothing was visible, but the young man accidentally touched him. They lifted the pontoon, moved it, and pulled out the child. The boy was lucky.
Not only large bodies of water, but also decorative ponds, and even containers with water, pose a danger, especially for a small child. Only parents who are aware of possible dangers and take them seriously, no matter how rare and incredible they may seem, will be able to protect their child from trouble. When with children near water, vigilance cannot be lost for a minute.
On August 24, a 5-year-old child drowned in a decorative pond in the Brest district. From August 23, the child was visiting his grandmother, who went to Brest on August 24, leaving her grandson with her 16-year-old daughter. When the boy was playing in the yard, his aunt was in the house. Coming out into the yard, the girl found the minor in the pond without signs of life and called an ambulance crew. The arriving medics pronounced the child dead.
An accident occurred on the afternoon of June 17 in the Cherven district. A mother with a one-year-old child was in the yard of a private house with relatives. The woman was distracted for a few minutes by a phone call and lost sight of her daughter. At this time, the girl fell headfirst into a barrel of rainwater. After resuscitation, the child was hospitalized in critical condition.

Important! Do not lose sight of children playing near bodies of water. It is best if the child plays in the water with adults - only then can you be completely sure of their safety. If you are not participating in games, make sure the child is within your sight. |
Dear parents! Summer is a wonderful time for recreation, positive emotions, and vivid impressions. But it is also the most traumatic period for children. Therefore, do everything to protect your child from trouble. Try to make your vacation as safe as possible, be with your children, and take care of them.
