From September 15 to 24, the State Automobile Inspectorate is conducting a set of additional measures to ensure the safety of vulnerable road users. Drivers who fail to give way to pedestrians at uncontrolled and controlled pedestrian crossings when traffic controller or traffic light signals allow both drivers and pedestrians to proceed simultaneously are subject to administrative liability in the form of a fine ranging from 1 to 5 basic units. A pedestrian participating in road traffic during hours of darkness must identify themselves with retroreflective elements, and when crossing a pedestrian crossing, it is only recommended for the pedestrian to identify themselves with retroreflective elements. The liability for pedestrians who violate traffic rules is: from 1 to 3 basic units, for pedestrians who are intoxicated, from 3 to 5 basic units.
