"A Home Without Fire": The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus invites to a safety campaign from August 18 to 24.

From August 18 to 24, the Postavy District will host a large-scale preventive campaign "A Home Without Fire," organized by the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus. Within this initiative, special attention will be paid to increasing the level of fire safety in the residential sector and fostering a responsible attitude among citizens towards fire prevention.

Summer is a time when many people spend more time at their country houses and private homes, which, unfortunately, increases the risk of fires. That is why the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus conducts such campaigns aimed at preventing tragedies and saving the lives and property of citizens.

The main goal of the "A Home Without Fire" campaign is to remind residents of the district about the importance of observing fire safety rules in daily life. During the campaign, employees of the Postavy District Department for Emergency Situations will actively work with the public, conducting outreach and providing advisory assistance.

A special event will be the visit of specialists from the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry for Emergency Situations on August 22. On this day, employees of the regional department will arrive in the Postavy District to assist in inspecting citizens' households. This is a unique opportunity for residents to receive a professional assessment of their homes' fire safety condition, identify potential risks, and get specific recommendations for their elimination.

The "A Home Without Fire" campaign will cover the following key areas:

  • Checking the serviceability of electrical equipment and heating appliances: Faulty wiring and furnaces are among the most common causes of fires. Specialists will remind residents of the rules for operating electrical appliances and furnace heating.
  • Adherence to smoking regulations in residential premises: Careless handling of fire, including while smoking, is one of the main causes of fires.
  • Safe use of gas equipment:
