What to do if you witness a crime?

Pavel Naganovich, Head of the Law Enforcement and Prevention Department of the District Department of Internal Affairs, answers the question:

— First of all, it is important to remember the characteristics of the perpetrator as accurately as possible: their height, hair color, what they were wearing and what shoes they had on, or if they have any special features. Information about the time and place of the incident, the direction in which they fled, and other witnesses to the illegal act is also of great importance.

This information should be given to law enforcement if someone has already called the police. If there is no one else nearby, you should dial 102 yourself and state the exact address and the essence of what happened.
