About the Institution

The main function of the State Institution "Postavy District Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology" is to exercise state sanitary supervision over the compliance of legal entities, officials, and citizens with legislative acts on health protection and ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, sanitary norms, rules, and hygienic standards, as well as control over the organization and implementation of measures aimed at improving the living environment and preventing diseases.

Goals and directions of activity. The goal of the sanitary and epidemiological service of the Postavy District Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology is to implement state policy to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, minimize health damage from adverse environmental factors, protect against infectious diseases, prevent somatic morbidity, and ensure compliance with sanitary legislation requirements.

Types of work carried out by the State Institution "Postavy District Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology"

HYGIENE DEPARTMENT:
  • Conducting work on state hygienic registration;
  • Providing consultations and organizational-methodological assistance on healthy lifestyle promotion;
  • Reviewing and issuing conclusions for land allocation for the construction and reconstruction of buildings and structures, as well as for commissioning residential, industrial, and public buildings, and technological equipment;
  • Inspecting conditions of production, transportation, sale, and storage of products, goods, and consumer items;
  • Conducting hygienic assessment of working conditions at enterprises, and educational processes with laboratory and instrumental studies;
  • Providing consultations and information services based on applications from economic entities, including on-site visits.

EPIDEMIOLOGY DEPARTMENT:
  • Providing consultations on infectious disease prevention;
  • Providing advisory assistance to the population and HIV-infected individuals on HIV/AIDS prevention;
  • Organizing and conducting preventive measures and educational work among groups with increased vulnerability to HIV infection.

LABORATORY DEPARTMENT:
  • Research of food products and raw food materials;
  • Determination of nitrates in raw food materials;
  • Conducting radiological examinations;
  • Conducting microbiological examinations;
  • Determination of antibiotic sensitivity;
  • Identification of cholera vibrios from environmental objects.
