Safety in every home is taking place in Postavy District
As part of the "Safety in Every Home!" campaign, employees of the Postavy District Department for Emergency Situations visited categorized citizens to prevent fires in residential areas and fatalities from them, and also visited the public law enforcement point in the city of Postavy.
During the event, rescuers focused on the proper functioning of stove heating, gave recommendations on the correct use of stove heating to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning and prevent the occurrence and development of fires. The fire alarm, which EMERCOM employees always recommend installing in homes for early detection of ignition, did not go unnoticed, as it sometimes becomes the last chance for salvation. This is especially relevant when a person is sleeping, thereby being most vulnerable to the effects of combustion products, as they do not smell smoke. Special emphasis was also placed on smoking, as statistics show that 90% of fire fatalities are due to careless handling of fire while smoking.
At the end of the presentation, rescuers drew attention to changes in weather conditions that contribute to the rapid melting of ice. They reminded of the inadmissibility of going out on the ice during this period and demonstrated a video about safety measures and providing assistance if a person falls through the ice.
