Aleksandr Rogozhnik appointed Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenka appointed Alexander Rogozhnik as Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Until now, the new head of the region served as the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia.

Alexander Rogozhnik was born in 1976 in Gomel.

In 1998, he graduated from Francysk Skaryna Gomel State University with a degree in "accounting, control, and analysis of economic activity," after which he served in internal affairs bodies.

From 2009 to 2011, he underwent retraining at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus with a specialization in "public administration of the national economy."

He began his professional career in 1999, joining the Gomel Customs as an inspector in the "Gomel-Passenger" department of the customs post. In 2000, he worked as a chief specialist in the regional development department of the "Gomel-Roton" free zone administration. He then spent two years as a marketing department manager at one of the enterprises, after which he moved to the Ministry of Energy, where he was first a chief specialist, and then an economic advisor in the economic department.

From 2003 to 2006, he again entered the production sector, heading first one private unitary trading enterprise, and then another.

In 2006, he returned to work in the structure of the Ministry of Energy, where he worked as deputy head of the economic department, head of the economic analysis department.

From 2008 to 2010, he headed the economic department of the administration of the Leninsky district of Minsk. For one year, he led the scientific and production republican unitary enterprise "KBTEM-ITC." After that, he moved to another enterprise as a manager - JSC "Optoelectronic Systems," where he worked from 2011 to 2018.

From 2018 to 2022 - General Director of JSC "Managing Company of the Holding "Minsk Motor Plant".

From 2022 to 2024 - Minister of Industry.

In June 2024, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation.
