Water parks

One of the most favorite types of recreation for many families, especially children, is water parks. A large number of slides, pools, fountains, and jacuzzis delight all visitors. However, when visiting these water facilities, one should not forget about safety rules:

An accident occurred on May 30 in the swimming pool of one of Minsk's health complexes. A 15-year-old schoolboy drowned in one of the lanes. He, already at the bottom, was noticed by a man who was in the adjacent lane — he called for help and dived for the teenager. Later it became known that the schoolboy was swimming independently. The boy, trying to swim 50 meters underwater, lost consciousness. The victim was pulled out of the water, unfortunately, the child died in the hospital.

In 2015, on August 22, a 10-year-old boy died after visiting a water park. He came to Minsk from Grodno to visit his sister. It was under her supervision in the children's area of the water park that he spent that evening. The boy felt unwell after he went down a slide. Already after that, one of the vacationers pulled him out of the pool in an unconscious state. The schoolboy could not be saved.

Safety rules when visiting a water park:

- in any water park you visit, there are specific operating rules, be sure to read them;

- if there is more than one child, it is recommended to go as a group or with the whole family (based on the rule: one adult per child);

- be sure to discuss with the child the main points – what to do if they suddenly lose sight of their parents;

- do not let a small child go on slides alone, always be next to them;

- before going on any attraction with a child, be sure to familiarize yourself with its operation;

- the best way to learn how an attraction works is to try it yourself!

- you cannot go down slides on your stomach, headfirst, or standing, you should tell your child about this;

- do not leave your child alone for a minute, even if they are already quite independent and swim well;

- make sure the child is wearing a life vest or inflatable armbands.
