To prevent road traffic accidents caused by speeding, today, July 29, another Unified Safety Day "Life is more important than speed!" will be held throughout the republic.

Traffic police officers will conduct preventive measures in organizations, enterprises, and educational institutions to inform, explain, and remind about safe road behavior rules.

Speeding offenders should remember that, according to Article 18.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, exceeding the established speed limit by a person driving a vehicle by ten to twenty kilometers per hour entails a fine of up to one basic unit, by twenty to thirty kilometers per hour — a fine of one to three basic units, by thirty to forty kilometers per hour — a fine of three to ten basic units. Exceeding by forty or more kilometers per hour can result in a fine of eight to twelve basic units.
