May 28 – Border Guard Day!

On May 28, people whose military duty is to guard and protect the State Border of Belarus celebrate their professional holiday. Among them is Alexey Orlov, senior technician of the Yarevo border outpost of the Smorgon border group.

The area of responsibility of the border outpost is a section of the border with Lithuania, about 40 kilometers long. Alexey has thoroughly studied it, walking hundreds of kilometers. Sunsets and sunrises on duty, bad weather and off-road conditions, any alarming rustle or crunch of branches, a face-to-face encounter with a wolf or a bear - these are just some moments from the life of a border guard.
