On May 15, the information and propaganda campaign "Safe Holidays" starts in the republic
From May 15 to August 31, the republican information and propaganda campaign "Safe Holidays" will be held in all regions of the country.
The campaign has already become traditional and is held to draw public attention to the problem of children's mischief with fire, to prevent fires and deaths of children from them, to reduce the number of emergencies involving children and to ensure their overall safety both at home and on the street.
For reference: In 2025, four children died in fires in the country. Due to children's mischief with fire, 23 fires occurred. Tragic incidents also occurred on water bodies: this year, 12 children drowned.
In 2024, 10 children died in fires. 91 fires were registered due to children's mischief with fire. Last year, 19 children drowned in water bodies.
The campaign starts with large-scale events dedicated to Family Day and International Children's Day: in open areas in amusement and recreation parks, near palaces of culture, cinemas, shopping and entertainment centers, etc. – everywhere where parents with children are most often found – MES employees will hold bright and interesting activities. Interactive sessions, quizzes and outdoor competitions, demonstration of emergency rescue equipment, demonstration performances of MES units, distribution of educational visual materials, concert programs, creative performances – this is far from a complete list of what rescuers have prepared for children and their parents.
In the following days, MES employees, along with activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Organization of Rescuers-Firefighters, representatives of OSVOD will visit school and country health camps, and preschool institutions. They will remind children of important safety rules that must be observed at home and on the street, tell them how not to become hostages of seasonal dangers and how to act when in trouble.
To make the shifts not only fun but also useful, MES propaganda workers have prepared a whole baggage of creative and educational activities for children: various fire safety quizzes, games, competitions and quizzes that will help teach children to live safely in an accessible way. Rescuers will place an important emphasis on teaching water safety rules and swimming skills. "MES Day", "MES-LAND", the game "School of Young Rescuers", quizzes, safety quizzes, tours of safety centers and fire and rescue units – all this and much more has been prepared by MES employees for children. These events will allow children to show erudition and quick wit, unleash their creative potential, test their strength and endurance, and most importantly – learn, repeat and consolidate vital safety rules. Thematic videos and cartoons from MES will also be demonstrated, and participants will receive visual materials.
Dear parents, do not forget that you must take care of the safety of your children: create safe living conditions, never leave small children unattended even for a short time, discuss dangerous situations and their consequences with children.
